Ladies who lunched

A glorious October day, fiesty garden salads, squash soup, spinach pie and lashings of fresh peppermint tea, the ladies of  Volunteer Centre Southwark helped prepare the luscious luncheon, enjoyed by the whole team (still hard at work weeding and planting)

The visit was part of their Healthy Food workshop. Thank you!

We got some lovely feedback;

“I really enjoyed the experience – it was informative and uplifting” – Gerry, Volunteer Centre Southwark

“I live in the concrete jungle of the modern society and growing your own produce for consumption is not easy. After attending a food growing workshop organised in partnership with Sue at Burgess Park Food Growing Project and David at Volunteer Centre Southwark it made me realise, you don’t need a farm to grow your own produce but can be creative with what we have such as using pots.

Picking and cooking what you have sown is very therapeutic and I would urge a visit as this will change the way you look at and think about FOOD.” – Agnes, Volunteer Centre Southwark
