Grown in Peckham
Grown in Peckham is back for 2018.
Opening times 1 – 4pm every thursday.
This year we will be working with six new growing trainees who will help us grow more produce. By increasing how much we grow, we hope to have a bigger surplus, some of which will be donated to the Southwark Food Bank in Peckham every thursday. Small sales to local cafes will help raise a little income, and as usual, all volunteers go home with a share of the harvest.
Everyone welcome from 1pm for a shared lunch. Bring a contribution, and get gardening!
Just drop in, or get in touch in with Ben if you need to know more. growninpeckham(a)gmail.com
Originally launched in April 2013, the project supplied fresh, organically grown produce from Glengall Wharf Garden to local restaurants and cafes on a weekly basis, in return for financial support. The project was set up and run entirely by volunteers. Every thursday volunteers met to grow, harvest and pack the produce, which was then delivered to the doorsteps of the local cafes and restaurants. We worked with South Indian Kitchen Ganapati; Pan-Balkan Mezze and Grill, Peckham Bazaar (formerly Frog on the Green); and independent coffee house, Café Viva. Following a successful bid to the People’s Health Trust, we were able to support a paid community gardener throughout 2014.
